Teachers who wish to enhance their skills in helping students read, spell and write effectively will find one of the nation’s strongest programs in reading science at Mount St. Joseph University. The program features a curriculum based on the recommendations of the National Reading Panel and was one of the first in the nation to be accredited by the International Dyslexia Association. Three options for advancing your teaching credentials in reading science are offered: Ohio Reading Endorsement, Dyslexia Certificate, and Master of Arts Degree.
The Reading & Literacy Discovery Center is working with Dr. Amy Murdoch, Director of the Reading Science program and other faculty in the Department of Graduate Education at Mount St. Joe, to explore opportunities for hands on training for M.S. students in quantitative methodology for dyslexia diagnosis, including practical training in the clinic at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
